Custom Vintage Astatic JT-30 Mic:
I use a vintage
JT-30 Shell. After sanding, drilling and preparation, the shell receives a heavy chrome
plating.
A NOS (new old stock) MC-151 Crystal Element is installed plus the
appropriate heavy duty volume control and all-new wiring.
(Current mics are built with the volume control mounted in the mic stand hole as
shown in picture on right with the red silk to avoid spoiling the clean lines of
the bullet shell. Another advantage is that volume control changes can be made
with the heel of the hand while playing without breaking the cup of your
hands.)
This mic looks
fantastic with a durable chrome finish that should last a lifetime plus it sounds as good as it looks!
